The Gledhill Family Suite
This room is named after my Grandmother, Kathleen Mary Gledhill , born in Huddersfield on the 11th of November 1905 and died in Southampton on the 24th June 1993. Kathleen married my Grandfather, James Bean, who sadly died before my birth but was also from North Yorkshire. They moved to Birmingham for James to join the Birmingham British Police Force, where he enjoyed a full career. On their retirement, they moved to Devon on the South Coast. Kathleen was a teacher in her early working years, and would send my letters back to me correcting all my spelling and grammar mistakes made with a red pen. My grandmother instilled a love for Christopher Robin poems and various, which I can still recite today. I enjoyed many family holidays in her company and miss her warmth and sunshine smile.

Breakfast
A complimentary breakfast is available on a help yourself basis from the kitchen, comprising of various cereals, rusks, fruits, yogurts, eggs, bacon, cold meats with a selection of breads, jams, teas and coffees.
If you would prefer a full English or fancy affair, we do have 2 Artisan Breakfast restaurants and bakeries within a 5-minute walk from the Guest house, for your own account or other drivable recommendations.
Rooms and cleaning
Linen and towels are changed every third day due to water restrictions, or on departure for new guests.
The house is cleaned daily and guests can advise if they want do not want cleaners in their room during their stay.
Laundry services are available on request and is charged at a nominal fee.
Smoking area
Please note that the main house and garden cottage are completely non-smoking. Smoking areas are available at a seated table in our gardens close to the pool, or on the patio when it is raining.
We ask you to refrain from smoking inside and consider our non-smoking guests or visitors.

All rooms are room rate but we do offer a ‘Self help complementary light breakfast available in the Whistlewood shared ‘Blue kitchen ‘.
From Cereals, Fruit, toast, Jams , rusks Yogurts and Eggs and various selection of teas and coffees.
Otherwise you can enjoy Breakfast offerings from either Bocadillios Artisan Bakery and Cafe, Angelos, or Cobblestone Bakery.
All within 6 minute walk from the Guest House for your own account.
The whole guest house is available for exclusive hire on a self-catering basis for families of up to 6, with the option of an additional two single bed for younger children.

We unfortunately currently do not take children under the age of four years due to our open swimming pool.
We are pet friendly to guide and well-train dogs.
Discounts are offered on longer stays 3, 5 and 7 days or over.

Childrens rates: 4 to 17: R800 per night (no further discounts applicable)
Pensioners (South African citizens/permanent residents with a valid ID over the age of 60).

Payment needs to be made via EFT and cleared before planned arrival dates.
